Trust Your Clown With Michael Galligan: Join us for this 2 day workshop exploring clowning with guest artist Michael Galligan. Clown is a form of comedy that places physical expression over words, honesty over wit, and being brave over being funny. In this workshop, unlock your vulnerability, silliness, and courage onstage in pursuit of creating a 5-minute solo act. Saturday will focus on games, ensemble building, and exploring ideas for material that resonate. Sunday we will deepen our connection to that material, shaping it into a performable piece. No prior comedy, theater, or clown experience required.

Michael Galligan is an actor, producer, and teaching artist. Michael's work has been developed and performed at Brooklyn Art Haus, Cannonball Festival, PortFringe, 59E59 Theater, the Upper Jay Art Center, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His solo clown show, BANANA, was called a "comedic tour de force" in a five-star review from The Interrobang's Top Comedy Picks of the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe. Michael co-produces Clown Flex (via Clown Gym) and PUNCHCLOCK (self-produced), two variety shows for physical comedy performers in New York. www.michaelgalligan.com
