About the Event

Upper Jay Art Center is thrilled to present this innovative new work of theatre/puppetry. The Monarch Report is a multimedia performance exploring the delicate relationship between humans and insects. The story follows two humans in isolation, who raise and release hundreds of monarch butterflies in captivity. The more invested they become in their hobby (and documenting/sharing it), the more they begin to reflect on their own role in the ecosystem around them. This fun and visually compelling performance employs various puppetry techniques, quirky humor, and live-feed video to make-large the tiny lives of caterpillars and their metamorphosis into butterflies.

Who might love this show? Nature nerds, adventurous theatregoers of all ages (10-100), and those who are curious and passionate about learning.
