About the Event
Guitarist Russell Bailey's well earned reputation began with the hard edged electric blues band, The Bailey Brothers. Over the years, local audiences have followed his musical progression from blues rocker to finger picking folk singer playing a National Steel guitar, to exploratory jazz/blues improviser with the popular party band Crow Party. A couple years ago Russ formed the current trio with bassist Franz Pope and drummer Scott Renderer in pursuit of a pure and simple approach to the original sound and style of foot stompin' blues and boogie music in the days before rock and roll. Opening the night with Theresa Hartford Born in Portland, OR and grown in Cornish, ME Theresa Hartford’s musical style is as diverse as her background. Theresa’s powerful vocal ability ranges from a low sultry gravel, to a jazzy/rap, to the sweet and sentimental. Theresa’s soulful story-telling/song-writing has been largely influenced by her time spent as a wilderness instructor in the Adirondacks, and the people she has been fortunate enough to know in her community up north. Topics range from whimsical awkward crushes, to the woes of abuse, and refusal to settle for less than is deserved. You can check out Theresa’s music atTheresaHartford.Bandcamp.com
