About the Event
Lisa Bellamy is a poet, prose writer and Writers Studio teacher. Her first full-length poetry collection, The Northway, was published in 2018 by Terrapin Books. She is author of the chapbook , which won The Aurorean 2011 chapbook contest. Her poems and prose have appeared in Triquarterly, The Sun, Massachusetts Review, The Southern Review, New Ohio Review, Hotel Amerika, Asimov’s Science Fiction, Chautauqua, The Southampton Review, Calyx, Cimarron Review, Fugue, Tiferet, PANK, Harpur Palate and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, among other publications. She has received a Pushcart Prize Special Mention, the Fugue Poetry Prize and honorable mention in The Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror. She is a graduate of Princeton University. Lisa is currently working on a new collection and a children’s book. She grew up in Wisconsin and lives in Brooklyn and the Adirondacks. She is married to the photographer Peter Bellamy Aimée Baker’s first collection of poetry, Doe, was selected by Allison Joseph as the 2016 Akron Prize winner at University of Akron Press and published in 2018. Her fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction have appeared in journals such as The Southern Review, Gulf Coast, The Massachusetts Review, and Guernica. In 2014, she received the Zoland Poetry Fellowship and the Vermont Studio Center.
As a first generation college student, Aimée received her BA in Creative Writing and History from St. Lawrence University and her MFA from Arizona State University where she was Prose Editor for Hayden’s Ferry Review. Currently, she is a lecturer for SUNY Plattsburgh’s Professional Writing Certificate Program and she also serves as fiction editor for Saranac Review.
