About the Event
** PURCHASE TICKETS **
An early 90's television personality, Bob Ross taught us how to paint sweet landscapes. "It's your world" he would so smoothly encourage. He made painting accessible, and through painting things like "happy little trees", inspired multitudes of burgeoning artists.
We're excited to spend a night getting our hands dirty celebrating the legend of Bob Ross, a man who has a strong contemporary cult following and who has taught so many to create magic light.
Come at 5:30 for cocktails and passed appetizers. Bob Ross look-alikes will guide you through the space as you mingle and settle.
From 6:30-7:30 participating artists will create their own world as guided by one of the master's recorded sessions.
A light supper will be served at 7:30 during which time finished works will be transported to the third-floor gallery.
At 8:30, enjoy dessert and participant in a silent auction held in the third-floor gallery space. All attendees will have the opportunity to bring home a Bob Ross-inspired original (all proceeds go to the Upper Jay Art Center/Recovery Lounge).
Tickets are available at two tiers:
Artists: We have thirty easels, set with canvases waiting to be adorned with your art. "Artists" tickets provide you with the whole set-up. Food, drinks, and the opportunity to create your own world that will be brought the silent auction at the end of the night.
Friends: Not interested in holding a brush? Prefer to watch as artists navigate their canvases? We want you here, too. There are few things so voyeuristic as being allowed the opportunity to watch an artist create. Enjoy beverages and dinner while you spend the night watching the master as he teaches the room to paint.
