About the Event
Big Lazy has performed their signature noir and twang from the Whitney Museum of American Art to the Opera du Lyon. Led by Steven Ulrich on guitar, Big Lazy includes Yuval Lion on drums, and Andrew Hall on bass. The band has flourished on New York City's downtown scene for several decades. Their fiery performance style evokes seedy backrooms, big sky country, deftness and cinematic clarity, with a nod toward classic guitar instrumentals.
Maimie Minch embraces early fingerpicking guitar styles. Her deep blues-y voice, both assertive and tender, stretches and bends melodic-lines to suit fresh interpretations of classic folk songs as well as her originals.
Russell Scholl's extensive media archive includes Americana, Kitch, Avant Garde, Outsider Art, 78's, Vinyl, CD's, VHS, etc. The musical/video "Mash-ups" that come out of such large personalities will surely make for a very captivating evening at the Recovery Lounge.
