About the Event
Bad Penny Pleasuremakers serve up toe-tapping ragtime, acoustic & country blues, and prewar jazz—deeply rooted in New Orleans swing & soul. New Orleans-based Bad Penny Pleasuremakers, Matt Bell and Joy Patterson, met on a blind date shortly after Hurricane Katrina and have been playing music and traveling together ever since. Their music is deeply rooted in, and influenced by, their New Orleans community, as well as pre war-era stringbands, ragtime, acoustic blues, country blues and traditional jazz—from Louisiana and beyond.
The Bad Penny Pleasuremakers, as a band, is a collaboration of talented New Orleans musicians (including long time Saratoga Springs resident Jonathan Greene) who love the early sounds of music coming from this region and just really love playing the good old good stuff together.

This concert is part of a series generously funded by the Town of Jay. As such, it is a FREE event for residents of Jay and the surrounding communities. Donations are still welcome to benefit Upper Jay Art Center and Recovery Lounge.
